Overview

Addressing climate change is one of the most important challenges of our generation.  To avoid the environmental and economic calamities predicted, we need to greatly reduce the amount of carbon and other greenhouse gases emitted into the atmosphere. The target of the Energy and Emissions working group is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 28% by 2025 and 80% by 2050 from a 2005 baseline.

Learning Objectives

1.       Background and findings from the regional greenhouse gas inventory.

2.       Actions being taken by local cities on clean energy.

3.       How to contribute to reducing regional GHG’s through energy source, energy efficiency and transportation.
