This first of four courses on the Census -- Background and Geography -- will prime you to understand how the Census works, where the data comes from, as well as vital terminology and data sets you should be familiar with in the built environment.

Christopher Williamson

Invited Speaker

Dr. Williamson retired in 2016 after having served as the Principal Planner for the City of Oxnard, CA for nearly ten years. In that capacity and before as an Associate and Senior Planner, he worked on a wide range of projects and planning efforts including preparing for and supporting Census 2010. In earlier years, he was a Census Bureau geographer, survey statistician, and personal staff to the Director of the Census Bureau. He has written and spoken numerous times for the APA on census topics. He is now teaching demography at Cal State University, Channel Islands.
