Federal Planning Division Training Workshop 2018

New Orleans is one of the world's great mixing bowls. Food, music, cultures, religions, and architecture collide at the intersection of commerce and geography. The federal government has been there since the Louisiana Purchase. Attend the Federal Planning Division's two-day Training Workshop (immediately after the National Planning Conference), and learn how federal planners, public and private, respond to tomorrow's challenges. Why end the conversation when the National Planning Conference concludes? Come to the FPD Training Workshop to share your most creative ideas with planners truly working globally for America.
The program is currently in development and will be published this winter. The sessions and mobile workshops will yield approximately 12 AICP CM credits. The luncheon on Thursday, April 26, 2018 will include an ethics session tailored to the challenges faced by federal planners.
The walking tours will showcase places and activities relevant to federal planning and/or the professional background of attendees as planners, architects, engineers, and landscape architects.
Session topics cover sustainability, logistics, public involvement, space and facilities planning, adaptation of existing infrastructure to new uses, modernization of aging infrastructure, federal policy and appropriations, and environmental stewardship.
Daytime and evening social/networking events will take place at the Loews New Orleans hotel (300 Poydras Street). A networking reception will officially open the Workshop on Tuesday, April 24, from 6:00-8:00 pm after agency coordination meetings. The 2018 FPD Awards Dinner (ticket required) will be held on Wednesday, April 25, from 6:00-9:00 p.m. The Division will also hold a business meeting on Thursday, April 26.
Online registration will be available from December 19, 2017 through April 20, 2018. If you are unable to register online before the event, you will be able to register onsite April 24-26, 2018 (credit card or check only). The registration rates are as follows:

Cancellations and Transfers
If you must cancel or transfer your registration, email email@example.com. We cannot take cancellations or transfers by phone. March 22, 2018 is the last day to cancel and receive a refund. There is a $50 fee for cancellations and transfers ($35 for students).
