Overview

This presentation will introduce and explore the concepts of sustainability and resilience as they are applied to the development of public facilities. The speaker will discuss the ecologically efficient school and how such structures can be used as teaching tools that engage the youth and ignite an interest in the built environment. From this presentation, planners will learn about specific ways sustainable infrastructure can be incorporated into site and building design. Additionally, planners will take away an understanding of the systems that may be incorporated into projects that they review during the development process in this era of sustainable architecture.
