The American Public Transportation Association (APTA) is developing a bicycle integration guide that focuses on equitable mobility. National expert, Dan Suraci, will provide a sneak peek into the bicycle integration guide and regional experts will provide insight into best practices of bicycle and transit integration.

The focus of this event is on understanding and designing equitable mobility, specifically for bicyclists. Speakers will provide insight about bicycle integration from both a national and regional level. Dan Suraci will provide a sneak peek into the APTA Bicycle Integration Guide, which is scheduled to be released in early summer. Specifically, participants in this event will learn best practices when it comes to:

  • Bikes on transit;

  • Bikes at transit;

  • Bikes with transit;

  • Safe routes to transit; and

  • Demand management strategies.

Additionally, participants will understand how Kansas City is making strides to achieve equitable mobility, the problem areas, and what urban planners can do to help bridge the gap.
