Overview

Hike: Water Dog Lake Open Space, Belmont (2.25 miles) This hidden gem is nestled between homes and condos in the hills of Belmont. Water Dog Lake provides easy terrain with views from the top of the canyon. On a clear day you can take in an amazing view of the bay, see the San Mateo Bridge and the rising hilltops that run through Hayward. We’ll meet at the gate at the end of Lake Road at Hallmark Drive at 10 am. No parking or entrance fees. Limited side of street parking, and additional parking nearby in residential neighborhoods. There is a map under glass, but none to take with you. No restrooms or water. Please bring your own water, sunscreen, and trail snacks. Dogs are allowed on lease. Bite: Dog Haus Biergarten, Belmont Dog Haus is a craft casual hot dog concept known for its gourmet hot dogs, sausages, burgers and a one of a kind fried chicken sandwich. To chase it down, guests can select great craft beers from a tap list emphasizing local favorites, and they can finish their meals on a sweet note with premium shakes or soft-serve ice cream.
