There has been a revolution in our understanding of the forces that promote or impede upward economic and social mobility led by new data sources and 'big data' sets. At the same time, technology allows us to integrate these data sets and powerfully represent them visually for applied policy purposes.  UC Berkeley Haas Institute's Stephen Menendian will discuss their efforts to map "opportunity" using these data sets and with this technology, and the potential of this tool to promote equitable policy on a variety of issues including housing, transportation, health, and employment.
