  • How gentrification has shaped a dynamic urban environment
  • What types of challenges mass transit faces in low-density areas
  • Unique ways New Orleans is addressing mass transit

During this mobile workshop, Regional Transit Authority representatives will discuss the use of different mass transit modes in relation to zoning and density needs. Start at the Canal Street Ferry Terminal, then travel to the West Bank to visit Algiers Point and learn about residential encroachment into industrial land uses. The West Bank neighborhood provides a unique perspective of culture and identity as it pertains to New Orleans “city living" and offers three distinct land uses: urban core with small lots, suburban living with single family housing stock, and rural zoned areas, including properties with bayous and livestock.
