Join us for lunch, an overview presentation and walking tours of the revitalization of Oretha Castle Haley Boulevard, a 2017 Great American Main Street Award recipient. Walking tours of the corridor that will highlight the area's historical significance during the Civil Rights struggle of the 1960's and continues as both a the cultural and economic significant community in New Orleans. The Arts Council New Orleans, recently led local high-schoolers in imagining, designing, and building creative seating elements to improve streetscape and user experience along this thoroughfare, while engaging neighbors in the collection and sharing of individual stories to celebrate the rich history of this community.
