Deborah M. Rosenthal is a nationally recognized land-use lawyer, known for bridging the gap between planning theory and legal practice. Her distinguished career over the past 35 years has focused on the advocacy areas of land development, environmental protection, and historic preservation. Working primarily in California and Illinois, she has advocated for planning principles to be incorporated into development decisions, insisting that development be both environmentally responsible and economically feasible. She has been a tireless friend to APA, continuously educating members about important legal issues and representing planning interests in landmark legal decisions. Inducted 2016.
