Gil Kelley, FAICP
Gil Kelley has demonstrated leadership and innovation in planning practice for 35 years, with results of national significance. As Planning Director for the cities of Berkeley, California and Portland, Oregon, he played a central role in their development over a period of two decades, helping to establish their reputations for urban innovation and sustainable development. His efforts have been recognized through national APA awards for innovative plans and public engagement. An early proponent of using planning to address climate change, he continues to advise cities on climate change strategies and other issues. He also teaches, lectures and does private development.
