HURRICANE HARVEY
|
A message for hard-hit communities
Our heartfelt thoughts are with all those who have been impacted by Hurricane Harvey. While the utmost priority at this time is ensuring everyone’s safety and well-being, APA is engaging with FEMA, the APA Texas and Louisiana chapters, and other partners to be ready to assist component leaders and local communities when disaster relief and recovery work begins. The APA Foundation supports community assistance for disaster recovery. Members who wish to contribute to relief efforts can donate here.

Tools from the Water and Planning Network
APA's newest Interest Group, the Water and Planning Network, is an interdisciplinary communications exchange, connecting members to new ideas and best practices that reflect current research, science, policy, and technology regarding the protection, management, and use of water resources and utilities. A new blog post introduces the Network and offers a few notable tools — Digital Coast, Net Blue, and the Greenprint Resource Hub — to help you address these issues in your community. Interested APA members are invited to join the Network on Linkedin.

Planners and Water
Water planning has long been a focus of APA Research, and our newest PAS Report, Planners and Water, offers a primer on a new water planning paradigm: One Water. Integrating three water systems — water supply, wastewater, and stormwater — into One Water results in better planning and management outcomes. APA members can download this report, and 100 more, from the PAS Report Archive.
See what APA did with water planning last year in this section from our 2016 Annual Report.
