The city's development code establishes a solar access protection incentive for residential development. It includes a Solar Access Protection incentive for residential development: a density bonus of up to 10% if both bulidings are sited and covenants are established to protect solar acess of south building walls from shading by structures and vegetation. The amount of bonus depends on the restrictiveness of the covenant and the percentage of units affected (§3.220-5).
