The town's land use and development regulations requires applications for planned unit developments (PUDs) to demonstrate protection and use of renewable energy resources, including solar energy. It exempts rooftop appurtenances, including solar collectors, from maximum height regulations (§4.7.A). For residential planned unit developments, all proposals must demonstrate the extent to which they protect and use renewable energy resources, such as through solar orientation or enabling solar access (§9.4.C.9).
