This functional plan sets a goal of actively pursuing and developing solar PV along with other renewable energy sources. It lays out an action item to pursue solar PPA agreements (§2.Action Item 2). The plan includes a Solar PV screening analysis finding that the county could generate up to 40 % of its current electricity needs from solar, at a cost of 15-20 % less than purchasing that electricity from the utility, as well as an inventory of existing municipal solar arrays (§5.0).
