This report examines the potential impacts that autonomous vehicles may have on government entities and offers recommendations on how regional partners can prepare for the potential policy and land use implications. It looks at detailed impacts to infrastructure, the transportation system, land use, and legal and regulatory considerations. The recommendations are aimed at helping stakeholders work with actors at multiple levels of government as well as with key partners, sharing best practices at the local and regional levels, and advocating together for policy changes at the state level.
