Farmland Protection | Food Systems

This report lays out the tools used to create the state of Maryland’s innovative and successful farmland protection strategy. Different tools include:

• A series of maps identifying the state’s strategic farmland; 
• A model farmland protection program offering a mix of incentive-based and regulatory techniques; and
• A cooperative assessment examining existing farmland protection efforts and offering recommendations to motivate communities to expand and enhance their programs.
