The COVID-19 pandemic is wreaking havoc on households and working women are most affected. COVID prompted many professionals, especially women, to leave the workforce; women's participation has dropped to 1988 levels. Workplace practices and programs that support public- and private-sector planners with caring responsibilities have changed in response to the pandemic. Examples include flexible work schedules, inclusive hiring practices, proactive communication between managers and employees, and programs designed to help planners reenter the workforce.

Speakers at various levels of experience discuss inclusive workplace practices that support career development and advancement. They describe return-to-work programs for mid-level career internships that attract high-caliber planners and foster diversity and inclusion. Learn all about return-to-work processes: recruiting, hiring, internship, and full-time employment.

Presenters offer first-hand experience in adapting to the "new normal" at work and home and describe family-friendly workplace policies and management styles that support women's career advancement.
