Like it or not, politics is part of the planning process. Planners can choose to see the political system as an obstacle or they can use it as a vehicle for meeting community goals. In this program, Roger Walden, FAICP, presented highlights from his new Planners Press book Planners and Politics.

Roger Waldon, FAICP, is a Senior Consultant with Clarion Associates in North Carolina. He served as the Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Planning Director for 21 years, and as the Director of Planning Programs for Triangle J Council of Governments, a regional planning organization.
