National Green Building Standards Land Development Certification

March 10, 2015

The National Green Building Standard (NGBS) is the first green building standard approved by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). It offers a flexible, credible, and affordable rating system for residential builders and developers.

The NGBS establishes practices for the design and construction of green residential buildings, renovations, and land developments. NGBS Green Land Development certification offers a flexible option for planned communities, as it can be applied to any community size and density threshold.

Attendees learned about the NGBS's requirements, gained an understanding of how the certification process works, and viewed examples of certified projects.
