Planning Practice Lead

Job Summary

T3 Design Corporation has an immediate opening for a Planning Practice Lead. The successful candidate will have the proven ability to implement and grow a practice within the mid-Atlantic region. They should have a positive attitude, excellent communication skills, ability to handle multiple tasks, and coordinate with professionals across various disciplines. This is a full-time hybrid position reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, based in Fairfax, Virginia.

Responsibilities/Duties

The ideal candidate will possess the following experience:

  • Build and lead daily operations of the Planning Team.
  • Monitor team backlog in relation to the Business Plan, develop workload plans, and identify potential work-sharing opportunities.
  • Review proposals (scope development/cost estimates/contracts) before final approval.
  • Actively participate in Project Review meetings to manage financial expectations, bolster client relations, and explore project creation opportunities.
  • Drive quality within the group and ensure that QA/QC processes are implemented on all projects.
  • Perform lead discipline role in proposals and presentations.
  • Analyze technical concerns, assess the feasibility of proposed techniques and procedures and develop new approaches and solutions.
  • Develop, mentor, coordinate, and grow staff.
  • Implement recruiting, retention, and training strategies and skills development plans.

Education/Training and Experience

  • Bachelors degree required with at least 15 years of relevant work experience.
  • American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification required.
  • Track record of successfully winning and delivering work preferably in the mid-Atlantic region.
  • Proficiency in written and verbal communication, including proposal writing and presentation skills.
  • Strong public speaking ability and effective problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse clients and project teams.
  • Technical proficiency and ability to manage complex projects.
  • Strong practice and team-building skills, including planning, budgeting, and risk management.
  • Proven success in grant writing, with demonstrated experience in crafting compelling proposals and securing funding opportunities.

Additional Requirements

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.
