Be responsible for all council activities related to the development, preparation, administration, and close-out of community and economic development projects and contracts. These shall include but not be limited to: technical assistance; project development; project administration; labor compliance; civil rights; prevailing wage; contract bidding; and project closeout.

Examples of Work: (not all inclusive)

  1. To assist communities in the development of viable projects for funding in their jurisdictions.
  2. To attend all meetings, hearings, and forums necessary and appropriate for the job assignment.
  3. To submit grant applications in a timely manner matching the grant requirements to the project.
  4. To assist the preparation of the CEDS annual update.
  5. To keep all financial records of CDBG contracts (or other special projects as they may arise)
  6. Prepare all invoices and drawdowns that may be required by such projects.
  7. Keep all files and records and assist staff technical personnel in administrative procedures.
  8. To complete various plans, documents and reports as they relate to Community and Economic Development.
  9. To assist member governments in technical assistance on a number of grant applications and projects.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

Working knowledge of federal/state program requirements; ability to develop and write plans, reports and guidelines; knowledge and proficiency of computer software (Word, Excel, Internet Explorer, etc.) to complete assigned tasks; ability to make presentations to Council, and the general public, must show initiative and resourcefulness in completing work assignments; knowledge of CDBG, EDA and ARC financial requirements; ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with members, and representatives of other public agencies.

Experience and Training:

Graduation from 4-year college with a background in a field compatible to job assignment or 4 years of experience and training in the public or private sector in a job assignment-related field. Some bookkeeping background is useful.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,250.00 - $52,750.00 per year
