MORE SESSION DETAILS

Providing more mobility choices is a means for more opportunity. Over the past decade, businesses and municipalities have become more proactive in planning for workforce mobility and expanding community-wide transportation portfolio. Understanding that transportation “choices” and “investments” are synonymous bears a financial, economic, and social responsibility in how we manage our cultural and community values in the workplace and in neighborhoods. Across the United States and the globe, major employers are investing in employee commutes and host communities, while new citywide transportation programs are paving the way for smarter investments in their local and regional economies. The fundamentals of transportation demand management (TDM) push to manage transportation resources in a sustainable manner while providing more mobility choices. This session brings together global workforce transportation leaders, community planners, and consultants to discuss how companies and municipalities are responding to the “new normal” that has transformed TDM from a fluffy goal to tangible measures that uphold sustainable company culture and prioritize community investments. Key takeaways will be understanding how communities can leverage private businesses in achieving their overall goals; how businesses can support public needs; and how a collaborative experience among all parties can achieve success for future economic, equitable, and social growth.
