MORE SESSION DETAILS

Two main streets in the City of Coral Gables (Miracle Mile and Giralda Plaza) were recently the focus of an extensive, long-overdue streetscape project, the goal of which was to create a more vibrant, walkable downtown. The city developed a holistic approach to the project, including a unique public-private partnership financing structure, an innovative design from world-renowned landscape architecture firm Cooper Robertson, a robust continuity-of-business program, a targeted retail strategy, a zoning overlay district, and a multi-faceted marketing program to assist severely impacted businesses. Join a moderated session during which the panelists discuss the role and implementation of the retail strategy for the downtown, the holistic marketing approach taken to support merchants and activate downtown, the financing structure utilized to fund the project, and the economic impact of the physical enhancements and zoning changes on the business community.
