WHAT YOU’LL LEARN

  • What makes up the backbone of New Orleans transit, including mobility options and associated infrastructure
  • Strategies to address the challenges of transit access for job-seeking residents in New Orleans
  • How to advocate for effective long-term planning that defines a path for transit improvements and promotes equity

MORE SESSION DETAILS

This mobile workshop starts at the Algiers Ferry terminal construction site, where new multimodal designs and outcomes will be discussed. Take the ferry across the Mississippi River to tour Old Algiers and examine future transit options for the city along the way, including terminal improvements for the "West Bank" part of New Orleans, park and rides, regional connectivity, and dedicated transit lanes over the Crescent City Connection bridges. Explore a new streetcar line, downtown transit-hub action, lack of regional transit connections (and possible solutions to this problem), and a recently completed transit center.
