  • Twenty-two APA members are included among the honorees.
  • The 250 Government Champions will be honored at an event in May in Philadelphia.

Congrats to all 22 American Planning Association (APA) members, including APA's President Sue Schwartz, FAICP, and current and former volunteer leaders, Shenita McConis, AICP, PE, PMP; Micah Wood, AICP; Sean Maguire, AICP; and David Fields, FAICP. All members recognized were nominated and selected as the 250 Government Champions by LocalGov250 and the National Public Administration.

The initiative, in honor of the America 250 celebration, recognizes and honors government employees or recently retired individuals who exemplify the highest standards of public service.

"With planners across the country dedicated to thriving communities through unique insights, as well as innovative and practical approaches that anticipate and adapt to a rapidly changing world, it's clear why so many APA members were nominated and honored for their contributions in local government," said APA CEO Joel Albizo, FASAE, CAE.

Those selected were nominated for the achievement and will be honored at an event in Philadelphia this May.

Be sure to share the good news and celebrate with your APA colleagues on LinkedIn!
