About the Project
Responsible adoption of artificial intelligence in planning is a main focus of APA's research agenda. Given how quickly this technology is evolving, we set out to map real-world use cases of AI applications in planning — both across the country and internationally — to better understand emerging patterns: which planning areas are adopting AI, and what that means for the planning function at the local and state levels.
Where to Start?
This interactive database offers both a List and a Map view. In the list view, you can filter more than 70 use cases by planning area, planning process, type of AI, and AI's role in the project. See the Methodology section below for more on our research process and its limitations.
