Help shape the future of East Bay Township, a vibrant community near Traverse City, Michigan. Recognized with multiple planning, zoning, and collaboration awards, East Bay seeks a Director of Planning and Zoning to lead its department and guide projects from land use and housing to trails and the Beach District Corridor Improvement Authority. The Director will bring the Township’s Master Plan and zoning ordinance to life, mentor staff, and guide Township boards and commissions in decisions that benefit the community. The Director will work with staff, planning colleagues, regional partners, residents, and business owners.

AICP certification is required. A master’s degree and senior or executive-level experience (more than eight years) are preferred. Mid-level candidates with four to eight years of experience will be strongly considered. A bachelor’s degree in planning or a related field and experience working for or with local government are required.
