The city’s zoning code sets standards for three classifications of bicycle parking—Class A (medium to long-term parking), Class B (short to medium-term parking), and Class C (short-term parking)—in order to encourage creative solutions for accessible and secure parking protected from the elements (§5.19.9(A)). Class B is the focus of the somewhat flexible standards, though the city does set a more rigid performance standard for illumination across all classes.

Marijuana-Related Uses

The city’s zoning code permits multiple types of medical-marijuana-related uses by right, subject to use-specific standards (§5.16.3(G)). It defines “medical marijuana cultivation facility,” “medical marijuana dispensary,” and “medical marijuana home occupation.”

The code’s use-specific standards for medical marijuana dispensaries and cultivation facilities address zoning district use permissions, parking requirements, separation from schools, age restrictions for patrons, on-site consumption, space devoted to accessory sales, drive-through facilities, enclosure requirements, environmental performance, zoning compliance permits, number of plants, compliance with other zoning standards, and compliance with state law.

The code’s use-specific standards for medical marijuana home occupations address number of plants, residential use of property, compliance with home occupation standards, number of plants for personal use (not a home occupation), environmental performance standards, and compliance with state law.
