Marijuana-Related Uses

This article explores the pros and cons of ceding regulatory control over marijuana-related uses to localities. The author begins by explaining the theory of localism before discussing the cases for and against local regulation, lessons learned from local regulation of alcohol sales, and potential regulatory approaches for states. Ultimately, the author recommends state preemption of local zoning and licensing regulations for marijuana-related uses.
