This report engages a diverse group of stakeholders to understand the conditions and challenges faced by farmers in Putman County, NY, and advance regenerative agriculture that benefits the environment, economy, health, and the community. It offers recommendations and action items targeted at creating a vibrant agricultural sector in the county, including:
- Helping farmers to network, learn, and build capacity;
- Increasing market opportunities for local food within the county;
- Developing food production-friendly policies and regulations for communities;
- Maintaining and expanding the county’s farmland base; and
- Recognizing the importance of agriculture in the county.
