Home Occupations

The city’s zoning code permits home occupations by right, subject to use-specific standards (Appendix A §3.3.D.1).

Home occupations must comply with location and space, employee, and “neighborhood compatibility” standards (Appendix A §3.3.D.1.a – c). “Neighborhood compatibility” standards include: vehicle, parking, advertising, sign, storage and display, sales, traffic (Appendix A §3.3.D.1.c). It prohibits certain uses “because of their impacts on the surrounding residential area” (Appendix A §3.3.D.1.d).
