Inclusionary Housing

This guide and model ordinance on inclusionary zoning is part of the Smart Growth/Smart Energy Toolkit produced by the Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs. The website offers a general overview of this tool along with introductory and advanced slideshow presentations on the topic; provides rural, suburban, and urban case studies of inclusionary housing programs; and offers a model inclusionary zoning bylaw that includes a mandatory inclusionary zoning provision as well as incentives for and optional exemptions to affordable housing development that mitigate hardships associated with affordable housing development.
