Capital Improvements Programming
The city’s comprehensive plan includes a section on the capital improvement planning in its Development Guide. This section explains the relationship of the comprehensive plan to the city’s CIP and summarizes both current conditions and criteria for prioritization decisions for capital projects related to water, sanitary sewer, fire, parks, streets, and sidewalks facilities.
Climate Change
The city’s comprehensive plan addresses the impacts of climate change in its Environmental and Natural Resources element (greenock). It contains several goals to help the city mitigate and adapt to climate change, including minimizing flooding risks, managing and mitigating environmental hazards, improving air quality, and minimizing the effects of urban heat islands. It also summarizes initiatives and related policies that the city and its partners will pursue to achieve the goals established.
