Group Housing

The city's land development code defines and regulates two types of community residences: family community residences and transitional community residences. The distinguishing characteristic between the uses is the length of stay, rather than the number of unrelated residents (§24-245). Both uses are subject to separation requirements in residential districts (§24-29). However, community residences that cannot satisfy the separation requirements can apply for a conditional use permit (§24-71).
