The city's code of ordinances accommodates for onsite residential and nonresidential solar energy systems. Any proposed system must meet several requirements including approval from the Alliance Municipal Electric Superintendent, a conditional permit for system over 100 square feet, and state required permits (§111-403). It outlines requirements for both roof-mounted (§111-405) and ground- or pole-mounted systems (§111-406). The code of ordinances also provides a process for the discontinuation of systems (§111-407) and encourages development layout (§111-408).
