Report a broken linksolar energy
The city's code of ordinances allows for the protection of solar access in the site plan review process. In this regulation, the chapter on site plans addresses solar as one criteria used by the Planning Board in site plan review and enables the Board to require developers to establish protective covenants, height restrictions, or increased setback requirements in order to protect solar access for solar energy systems (§90-42.b.17).
The code of ordinances also highlights a Property Assessed Clean Energy program to help provide financial assistance with energy improvements and renewable energy installation (§23.1 et seq.).
