The city's unified development code permits accessory solar collectors in all districts and incentivizes "solar subdivisions." It allows for solar collectors as accessory uses in all zoning districts (§5-2.3 et al.). It also provides for "solar subdivisions" as a sustainable subdivision development tool worth 30 points (§11-10). A solar subdivision is a development that includes at least 70% solar lots with minimum north-south dimension of 75 feet and front line orientation within 30 degrees of the east-west axis, with streets oriented within 20 degrees of east-west axis (§11-12). The unified development code also provides an administrative waiver for freestanding solar arrays (§3-11).
