Solar Energy

The town's zoning code provides standards for accessory solar energy systems. It includes a section on renewable energy systems that addresses solar energy systems (§160-9.A). It defines "solar energy system" and sets basic standards for accessory systems, requiring them to be on the same or adjacent lot as the principal use they are serving and to comply with all applicable codes. The zoning code does not permit solar systems in setback areas and freestanding systems.
