Solar Energy

The city's comprehensive plan includes policies that support solar energy use and solar access protections. The Community Resources and Potential Hazards element of the city's general plan includes a policy to reduce energy consumption by supporting alternative energy (Policy 23.05).

This element includes an action statement related to this policy calling for the enactment of an alternative energy ordinance that would encourage solar energy use and provide setbacks for solar access and orientation (Action 23.E).
