Solar Energy

The city's comprehensive plan provides a goal and related objectives and policies to promote solar energy use, and also designates the number of solar panel permits as an indicator to track implementation. The Physical Growth and Development chapter sets a goal of maximizing renewable energy use (Goal GD-9) and associated objectives and policies to promote solar energy use (Objective GD-9-1, Policy a). It also includes evaluating costs and benefits of using solar at city-owned facilities and creating solar-panel covered parking areas for city-owned vehicles as actions to support Goal GD-9 (Appendix F).

The Implementation chapter of the code designates the number of solar panel permits as an indicator for tracking implementation of Objective GD-9-1 (p. 149).
