Solar Energy

The township's zoning code defines "commercial solar power facilities" and "solar or photovoltaic panels" (§370-7). Commercial solar power facilities are permitted by right in the limited industrial district (§370-109.B). The code provides standards for commercial solar power facilities within the township (§370-138). Standards address impervious coverage, projections into required yards, lot size and bulk limitations, buffer screens, on-parcel solar access, glare and aesthetics, vehicular access, parking, location, and wind resistance. Commercial solar power facilities require 1 off-street parking space (§370-181.B.20).
