The city code's public protection title was amended in 2010 to allow for urban chicken-keeping on single-family residential parcels of at least 5,000 SF (Chapter 5.09). The code limits the number of allowable hens to 4; prohibits roosters, nuisance behavior, and slaughtering; and provides standards for enclosures.
