The town's animal code was amended in 2013, 2016, and 2017 to address urban beekeeping (§90.02). The ordinance provides definitions and requirements, including a limit of 50 hives per lots of less than 1 acre, and 100-hive overall limit. It addresses opaque screening, hive location and setbacks, and roof siting. A one-time permit fee of $50 is required for keeping more than 5 hives. On-site sales of honey and related products are permitted during daylight hours for 180 consecutive days per year.
