Creative Placemaking

This article explores public and private partnerships in San Francisco that promote creative placemaking and equitable urban development. It explores a variety of approaches used to engage in creative community building, including pop up installations, funding mechanisms for public art, and programs to prevent displacement of nonprofits. Additionally, it profiles the Rainin Initiative, an installation that encourages conversations on community identity in the Central Market Neighborhood.
