age-friendly communities

This report argues that creating an age-friendly community makes economic and social sense. It discusses six categories of benefits:

  1. Economic Benefits
  2. Social Capital Benefits
  3. Opportunities Related to Housing
  4. Opportunities Related to Physical Infrastructure
  5. Health Benefits
  6. Other Benefits

The authors see the growing numbers of older adults not as a demographic crisis, but as an untapped human resource, and highlight the ways age-friendly communities can serve all its residents.
