This report investigates the public sector role in promoting gentrification and displacement. It identifies public sector investments that could spur gentrification, including transportation infrastructure, and discusses ways to measure residential displacement. Appendix 1 summarizes studies that have looked at racial transition and succession and Appendix 2 summarizes studies that have looked at rail transit and property values.
