Climate Change

This function plan presents actions and initiatives to help the county address climate change. Different sections of this plan address racial equity and social justice, the county's climate conditions, and the county's greenhouse gas emissions. Chapter 6 contains several strategies to reduce or prepare for the impacts of climate change, including clean energy actions, carbon sequestration actions, and climate governance actions.

Urban Heat Resilience

This functional plan presents actions and initiatives to help the county address reduce the risks associated with extreme heat events. Some of the actions include retaining and increasing tree canopy (S-2), enhancing the County’s temperature monitoring and alerts (A-3), and updating the residential and commercial building code to require cooling solutions (A-6).
