The California Department of General Services (DGS), Real Estate Services Division, Project Management and Development Branch, Environmental Services, on behalf of the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE), is requesting Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) for environmental document and related studies for replacement of CAL FIRE's San Luis Obispo Regional Unit Headquarters (SLO-RUH) located at 635 North Santa Rosa Road (State Highway Route 1), San Luis Obispo County, California.
The CAL FIRE SLO-RUH Replacement Project (Project) proposes construction via a design build delivery method. Site work will consist of phased demolition of approximately 22,800 square feet of existing buildings and construction of new site improvements including approximately 34,240 square feet of new buildings, earth moving, paving, retaining walls, potable water distribution systems, waste water collection and disposal systems, drainage systems and erosion control measures. Additional work will be required at the site entrance from State Highway 1 including driveway approach and signalization at the adjacent intersections. Some of the existing buildings will remain in place due to emergency operational requirements or historical preservation requirements.
The Contractor shall provide professional environmental services necessary to prepare the environmental documents and related supporting studies in compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and all other relevant environmental laws and regulations normally and logically associated with providing environmental information and analysis. The State lead agency is CAL FIRE.
