The City of Wausau seeks a qualified firm to update the River Edge Master Plan (hereafter 'the Plan') in Wausau, Wisconsin.

The original plan was adopted in 1995 with a minor update in 2004. The plan provides a vision and recommendations for the Wisconsin River Corridor. This report identifies long and short-term strategies for improving public access to the City's most important natural resource — the Wisconsin River. This Master Plan provides a framework for protecting and enhancing the scenic beauty of the river corridor, and outlines activities, programs and projects that improve the public's ability to enjoy this resource.

A large amount of progress has been made on the establishment of the plan and trail system, and the river edge landscape has changed dramatically since the plan was originally adopted. Some of the original challenges still exist and new challenges have precolated as well. The City believes now is a good time to reevaluate the river edge master plan and develop new recommendations based on new opportunities and conditions.
